First Aid At Work Renewal - Level 3



Pre-requisites

Students must be at least 18 years old at the start of the course.

Students must complete their renewal before their First Aid at Work Certificate expires. If you're unable to do this, you will instead need to complete the three-day First Aid at Work course.

You'll need to bring your expiring First Aid at Work Certificate to show the course tutor in order to renew your qualification. In order to complete the course you will need to bring along photographic ID to show to the tutor.

Please arrive on time and bring a notepad and writing materials as there is an assessment element to the course.

Please note that employees of GLL are required to attend in uniform including name badge.

General Information

The First Aid at Work Renewal course is designed for all staff with a valid three-year First Aid at Work Certificate that will shortly require renewal.

First Aid at Work courses are intended to cover incidents and situations arising in the workplace. The aim of the course is to provide the skills to safeguard work colleagues and members of the public.

Having the correct first aid provision in your workplace is not only a legal requirement, it is incredibly important for the safety of you and your employees.

Course Content & Structure

The First Aid at Work Renewal course is HSE-recognised and Ofqual-accredited. Main topics covered are:

Resuscitation

Control of bleeding

Fractures

Strains and sprains

Illness and injury

The course is completed over two days. Assessment takes place throughout the course.

At the end of the course, you will be competent in:

Resuscitation

Shock

Bleeding

Unconsciousness

First Aid Kits/Boxes

Transporting Casualties

Minor Injuries to Bones

Muscles & Joints

Burns & Scalds

Eye Injuries

Poisons

Record Keeping
