You must be at least 16 years old. You will also need access to the internet, as the mandatory units are delivered via e-learning prior to the start of the classroom based days. If you have any questions regarding entry requirements please contact us.

All candidates will be provided with links to e-learning for theory units at least 2 weeks before the start of the course.

Course evaluation

How is the course assessed?

The practical assessment takes place 4 weeks after the workshop finishes and is usually at the same fitness facility. This involves teaching a healthy adult beginner or intermediate client, which is assessed by a Gym FFT assessor. The assessment also includes written work in the form of a portfolio of evidence and once students have passed all 4 written exams, portfolio and practical assessment they will be awarded a Future Fit Training Level 2 Gym Instructor certificate – this is the license to teach. The City & Guilds Level 2 certificate in Fitness Instructing (Gym-based exercise) will be claimed at this point.
